Part 2
The Cheddar Gorge lays to the north west of of the Mendip Hills in Somerset. The limestone rock rises up too a height of some 700 feet and is the home of feral sheep, raven and peregrine falcons to name but a few. The Gorge was roded away from millions of tons of water rushing through the Mendip Hills during the ice age period. It most likely that the underground caverns assisted the construction as they collasped under the weight of the ice and water.
